Rationality & Intersubjectivity

We will soon be kicking off our annual reading group Rationality and Intersubjectivity, with more readings on philosophy of mind & language.

This semester, we will dedicate a few sessions to a new book that is forthcoming by Simon Prosser (University of Saint Andrews) titled “The Perspective of Consciousness”, which will connect to our ongoing discussions around indexicality and perspectivality. We hope to have the author with us for at least one of those sessions.

Following that, we will have a few sessions on the hot topic of polysemy, with a handful of recent papers in top journals.

We will be meeting for our first session on the 21st of October (Tuesday) via zoom to discuss a chapter from Prosser’s book. We will provisionally keep hosting sessions every two weeks on Tuesdays, although this is subject to change.

If you would like to join, please email me at valensimpson@gmail.com and I will forward the reading list/materials along with including you in all following communications regarding the reading group.
