Takuya Niikawa (Kobe University): Aesthetic Introspection.

Abstract: Aesthetic perception enables us to know what aesthetic properties an artwork or environmental scene possesses. There is much discussion on the nature of aesthetic perception. In contrast, aesthetic introspection enables us to know what aesthetic properties a conscious experience possesses. There is almost no thematic discussion on the nature of aesthetic introspection. Given this, my talk aims to clarify and classify aesthetic introspection as a starting point to further explore its epistemological and (meta)physical statuses.
