We remind everyone that next Thursday 23rd will be held the Thesis defense of our PhD candidate Marta Cabrera. Good luck!
Manuel Almagro just joined the Valencia Philosphy Lab as Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher. Welcome!
The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation opened the call for Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowships: https://www.aei.gob.es/convocatorias/buscador-convocatorias/ayudas-contratos-juan-cierva-2022. Since applicants need the support of a supervisor, the VLC Philosophy Lab encourages those interested in receiving support from members of our group to express their interest by contacting Jordi Valor (jordi.valor@uv.es) or the member of the group working in the relevant area.
The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation will offer soon a 4-year PhD fellowship to join the research project “The Representational Penumbra – an investigation of borderline cases of representation” (grant PID2021-127046NA-I00), based at the University of Valencia. (More information: https://vlclab.blogs.uv.es/the-representational-penumbra-an-examination-of-borderlines-cases-of-representation/).
We welcome applications from researchers in philosophy willing to pursue the critical study of issues related to the project, which include (but are not restricted to): foundational issues on the notion of content and representation (naturalistic theories, representational kinds, structural representations, computation,…), information theory, formal models of signaling, emotions, animal communication, plant cognition and 4E. The candidate will be supervised by Marc Artiga (UV), Manolo Martínez (UB) and/or David Pineda (UdG), depending on his/her interests and research profile.
Anyone interested should send a CV, an exampe of paperwork, together with a brief outline of a research proposal (200-500 words) to marc.artiga@uv.es in order to confirm eligibility. Please, feel free to contact us if you have any doubts about these research in contracts.
Deadline: 31 December 2022
Please note candidates will have to submit an official application through the website of the Spanish Ministry for Science and Innovation.
Our former PhD student Virginia Ballesteros was awarded a Margarita Salas Postdoctoral Fellowship – she will first work at the University of Granada for some time and then move to the University of Valencia. Congratulations, Virginia!
